The Legendary Quake Returns: Remastered For PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, And PC


Bethesda Softworks and id Software have announced the re-release of the legendary Quake game, along with two expansion packs. An improved edition of Quake with improved graphics is now available for major modern platforms.


This version of Quake supports resolutions up to 4K and widescreen on compatible platforms. As the developers promise, gamers are waiting for improved models, dynamic lighting, depth of field effect, and much more.


It is possible to download additional maps. Co-op play is supported locally or over a network with up to four players. A single-player campaign, original add-ons are available, as well as two new ones - from the MachineGames studio, famous for the development of Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.


Quake arenas are also available for up to eight players, with support for cross-platform play, custom matches, and dedicated online matchmaking servers.


The re-release became available almost two months after June 22, when the game turned 25 years old. The new edition of Quake is out for PC, Xbox One (included with Xbox Game Pass), PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and in Backward Compatibility mode for Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5.


It is noted that free updates will be released a little later, adding support for 4K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate on Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5.


Players who previously purchased Quake on Steam or Bethesda.net will receive the enhanced version for free. The rest will have to fork out $ 10 or 719 rubles.
