The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially learned that in October this year, the ISO 34501 international standard for autonomous driving test scenarios was officially released, which is also the first international standard for autonomous driving test scenarios led by China.
In recent years, with the rapid rise of automotive autonomous driving technology in the world, relevant standards for autonomous driving test evaluation have become the focus of various international standardization organizations. In April 2018, my country proposed an international standard proposal for autonomous driving test scenarios to the International Organization for Standardization Road Vehicle Committee (ISO / TC22), and was approved to set up a working group for autonomous driving test scenarios (ISO / TC22 / SC33 / WG9) and convened the working group. people.
Subsequently, based on its own industrial development practice, my country, together with experts from more than 20 countries including Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States, jointly planned a series of international standard projects around autonomous driving test scenarios, including ISO 34501 scene vocabulary, ISO 34502 Security Assessment Framework, ISO 34503 Design Operating Scope, ISO 34504 Scenario Classification, and ISO 34505 Evaluation and Use Case Generation.
ISO 34501 is the first international standard released in this series. It mainly regulates concepts such as autonomous driving systems, and dynamic driving tasks, designs operating ranges and conditions, clarifies the relationship between scenarios, dynamic and static environments, and physical elements, and forms Scenario-level description rules including functional scenarios, abstract scenarios, logical scenarios, and concrete scenarios. As an important basic standard for autonomous driving system test scenarios, this standard meets the needs of the industry to describe test scenarios in a standardized language when carrying out work related to autonomous driving test evaluation. Research and development, testing, and management provide important basic support for various types of autonomous driving applications such as smart travel, regional connection, and road transportation.
In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize China Automotive Technology Research Center Co., Ltd. and other relevant units to give full play to the rich application scenarios and technological innovation of my country's automobile industry based on the principle of synchronous research and synchronous formulation of international and domestic standards. Active and other advantages, accelerate the research and development of advanced autonomous driving technology, the construction and application of basic scene libraries, and the building of industry testing and evaluation capabilities, and continue to increase my country's participation and contribution in the construction of international standards and regulations and the development of industrial integration.
