Problems facing Microsoft Edge update

The latest version of the Microsoft Edge internet browser came with a few unwelcome and equally annoying bugs and annoyances, users have complained, annoying popups, and unsave settings ruining the Edge experience.

As reported by BleepingComputer, several users reported that Edge 91 presents a popup on launch asking if they want to use recommended browser setting. However even if they close the popup or choose not to update settings, the window will reappear on restart.

A list of the best VPNs available for Windows 10 can be checked by recreating the issue on a particular device and suggests that the problem might be with the default search engine setting:

In our BleepingComputer test, this only happened to us when Bing was not configured as the default search engine. Edge users also say the browser doesn't accept configurations for the startup page and often opens a new tab page instead, which BleepingComputer also enables to recreate to confirm the problem.

According to Windows Latest, it can be resolved by manually switching the Manage Search Engine Group Policy from Enabled to Not Configured or Disabled.

Other errors include missing the + icon to open a new tab, or not being able to use the third mouse button to open items in the Favorites folder, Microsoft hasn't addressed these issues yet, so we don't know how long the fix release will take.

The software giant doesn't seem to have stopped with its browser(s) lately, it currently has two browsers, Chromium-based Edge and the legacy Internet Explorer used by some organizations that need something to run their old apps on, will retire on June 15, 2022.
