Metroid Prime 2D fan remake demo

The fan remake of the cult game Metroid Prime (which the series first entered the genre of 3D shooters) has received a playable demo after three years, which you can download here. In addition, you can watch a video from the game. The playable demo was released on Thursday, but it managed to successfully look like an April Fool's joke. In reality, however, it is a very high-quality work of an enthusiastic team, which aims to transfer the style of the game instead of literally transferring the original game from 3D to 2D, but to adjust the individual passages and mechanics to two-dimensional gameplay. You can judge for yourself how well they succeeded.

The goal was to adjust the individual passages and mechanics to the level of 2D playability.

A similar project appeared in 2016 to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the series called "Another Metroid 2 Remake". At that time, however, Nintendo, with the help of its lawyers, had it promptly removed, as did a number of other similar fan projects. Fortunately, its creator found a job in the development team of the game Ori. This year we will see the 35th anniversary of the release of the original game Metroid, so the question is whether Nintendo itself will offer us a remaster.

Unfortunately, we will probably not see Metroid Prime 4, whose development was restarted in 2019.
