BMW XM is equipped with an M hybrid drive system consisting of a 4.4L V8 twin-turbocharged engine and a high-performance motor, with a combined maximum output power of 480 kW and a combined peak torque of 800 N·m. The M hybrid drive system equipped on the BMW XM uses the fifth-generation BMW eDrive electric drive technology, equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a ternary lithium battery pack. BMW Group said that within 2022, the BMW Group will have 15 pure electric models in mass production and trial production; the "new generation" model based on the new architecture will start trial production in 2024 and debut in 2025; by the end of 2025, The BMW Group plans to deliver 2 million pure electric vehicles worldwide.
