Adobe, a global leader in digital media solutions, has announced the general availability of its latest AI tools aimed at making document management less time-consuming. This announcement comes at a time when tax season is in full swing worldwide, marking the 25th anniversary of the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) standardizing tax documents on PDF.
Adobe's new generative AI assistant, the Acrobat AI Assistant, is now available and is set to "bring generative AI to the masses." With an estimated three trillion PDFs circulating worldwide, Adobe's GenAI tool aims to revolutionize users' interactions with documents. It offers features to extract key information, summarize content, and facilitate easier navigation within lengthy documents.
Abhigyan Modi, SVP of Adobe Document Cloud, stated, "Acrobat AI Assistant empowers billions of people to shift from reading documents to having a conversation – enabling them to get insights and format and share content from all kinds of digital documents – quickly and easily."
In addition to enabling users to "chat with your PDFs," Adobe also promises to deliver intelligent citations, allowing users to verify the source of generated content. The company has confirmed that it will not store or use customer data to train AI Assistants without consent, ensuring user privacy.
The add-on will be available to users with free Reader or paid Acrobat for individual plans in English only. The early access pricing of $4.99 per month will remain in place until June 5, 2024, with more languages set to follow.
Adobe has also made the AI Assistant available on Reader mobile as a beta for a "limited time," indicating that a full mobile launch could be imminent. This move signals Adobe's commitment to expanding its AI capabilities across platforms, providing users with more flexible and efficient document management solutions.
